Description
It's funny, city people often ask why we moved out to the country yet the country folks never do. I guess that's because most of them are transplants, too, that also left the hustle and bustle of the city for a little bit calmer way of life. Although we only live 20 minutes from the city and Colin still has his day job, there is a sense of peace out here that is nourishment to the soul.
Not only were we seeking a change of pace but we were also looking to grow some of our own food that is leaps and bounds healthier than you can buy in the store. In addition to animals, a huge garden, bees, fruit trees/bushes and nut trees, we also wanted to grow a wide variety of medicinal herbs that are so healing to the body.
Many of you know that I'm a naturopath so I strongly believe that real food grown in healthy soil and animals that only consume that kind of food are critical to restoring and/or maintaining true health. Herbs are like concentrated foods that provide healing to the particular organs they support. For instance, Hawthorne Berries support the heart while Uva Ursi feeds the kidneys and Feverfew can prevent migraines. For those of you that are familiar with herbs, you know how powerful they can be while those of you new to this realm, do some research, you will be amazed! I will begin offering more classes soon because I am committed to helping people regain their health.
