Initially got through private gift, Lewis/Young Park is a far reaching parkland with various soccer and baseball fields with lush trails, covers, BBQ barbecues, an angling lake, play area, restrooms and open field ranges that can oblige the littlest or biggest of occasions. The park is also home to the spectacular Powell Observatory that is operated with national acclaim by the Astronomical Society of Kansas City. The main entrance of the park is located on Jingo Road, one mile north of 271st Street.
